Kenny Bower

Kenny, who was born and grew up Ulverston, started drawing at an early age and always dreamt that one day he would illustrate his own story book.   The idea for Timmy Ted evolved from Kenny’s fascination with Chapel Island and the legend of the hidden tunnel that is believed to connect the island with Conishead Priory on the shore. He created the character of Timmy for his children and started work on a series of drawings depicting Timmy and his pals’ adventures around Ulverston. Now, with the help of Handstand Press and Lindsay Staniforth, who put the story to verse, Kenny’s book has been published.
